Here you will learn the vape laws in Austria in 2024. Generally, vape laws in Austria are as per the overarching TPD rules except in the following areas. All EU markets are required to notify vape products but some market are not required to notify nicotine-free products (see section below).

Austria vape regulation is laid down in BGBl No.4311995 transposed from EU Tobacco Products Directive 2014/40/EU.
The authority responsible for regulating vapes in Austria is the Federal Ministry Republic of Austria.
Cross-border sales in Austria are not permitted.
Retailers are required to register before marketing (TBC).
There are no specific lab testing requirements.
Nicotine-free vape products are required to be notified via the EU TPD portal.
There is no notification fee in Austria (TBC).
The health warning to appear on packaging is as follows:
For nicotine-containing products:
“Dieses Produkt enthält Nikotin: einen Stoff, der sehr stark abhängig macht. Es wird nicht für
den Gebrauch durch Nichtraucher empfohlen.”
For nicotine-free products:
“Der Gebrauch dieses Produktes kann gesundheitliche Schäden verursachen.”
