Our TPD packaging and CLP Service

Medic Pro offers services to help producers comply with the TPD packaging and labelling requirements along with CLP advice.  But what are the new TPD packaging rules?

> Technical standards

The nozzle of the refill container should conform to a specification i.e securely attached, at least 9 mm long and emit no more than 20 drops of e-liquid per minute when vertical.

This is based on the standard prepared by the French standards agency, AFNOR. Learn more about the standard here.

> Leaflet information

A leaflet containing information such as instructions on refilling should be included with the product. Other information to be presented in the leaflet include:

  • Warning for specific risk groups (e.g. heart disease sufferers, pregnant or breast feeding women).
  • Possible side effects (e.g. headache, irritation of mouth)

> Information on the label

A certain health warning must appear on the front and back of the unit pack and container pack.  The warning must be in Helvetica font and cover 30% of the surface. The warning must be one of two statements.  Member States have a choice of two statements:

‘This product contains nicotine which is a highly addictive substance. It is not recommended for use by non-smokers’

OR

‘This product contains nicotine which is a highly addictive substance.’
